OVERVIEW The Qin dynasty, aslo known as the Ch'in Dynasty, was very vigorous yet shortly lived. It existed in the Warring States Period and last for only 15 years (221 BC - 206 BC). It was named after the leader, Qin Shihuangdi. He standardized Chinese script, currency and a system of measurements and is also credited with building The Great Wall of China. The Qin Dynasty was the first dynasty to ever use bridges or roads.
THINGS TO SEE/CULTURAL SITES There are many interesting things to see in the Qin Dynasty, the first and most captivating would be the Terra Cotta Army, a full sized army made out of stone and each soldier life sized.
CLIMATE The climate in the Qin dynasty is very similar to the climate in Asia today. It consists of very humid and hot most of the year, but can differ depending on where you are. Some of the largest climate ranges occur in parts of Asia; ranging from extremely cold in the northern parts to very hot in the southern parts.
Government In politics, he declared himself the Emperor of the state. All major powers including politics, economy, military affairs were in his hand. Executive organizations both in the central and local places were systematically reorganized and local counties were restructured.
Economy In his economy, he standardized weights and measures and he stipulated that the round coin with square hole (Ban Liang Coin) should be the coin used in the country.
